Habit tracker apps to use with friends, compared

Last checked:

Seven habit apps with something to offer a group, compared on platforms, price, group features, competition and AI. StreakLeague publishes this page, and every competitor fact comes from the sources listed at the end.

Which habit tracker should we use with friends?

It depends on what your group wants: a competition with standings, RPG-style quests, shared tracking, a personal tracker or money on the line.

How do these habit apps compare?

They differ most on competition and AI: some add group challenges or money stakes, and StreakLeague is built around a private league with standings and an AI commissioner.

Prices as listed on the US App Store on 19 Oct 2026 (Beeminder: as listed on beeminder.com); may change. "Not stated" means our sources don't cover it.

What is each app like?

Each app below gets one short summary drawn only from its official listing or help pages, with a "pick it if" line.

StreakLeague

StreakLeague is our app, on iOS and Android. Up to 10 friends join a private league around one habit and check in each day, and live standings show who is ahead. Leagues run in Season mode, where consistency decides the final standings, or Knockout mode, where one player is cut every week. The Ref, an AI commissioner, writes commentary on league events. Joining is free; creating a league needs Pro (after your first). Pick it if your group wants a competition with standings, weekly cuts or a season, and a referee.

Habitica

Habitica is on web, iOS and Android, free with an optional subscription from $4.99/month. Parties hold up to 30 people, and in party quests members' missed Dailies damage the party. Challenges are shared task lists whose creator picks a winner. We found no AI features in its official materials. Pick it if you like RPG-style gamification or have a bigger group.

Habitify

Habitify runs on iOS, Android, web, desktop and Apple Watch, with a free plan for 3 habits and paid plans from $29.99/year. Its challenges are joined by invite link and come with a daily summary of who finished, skipped or missed, a shared team streak and a Hall of Fame leaderboard. Its Habi AI assistant (Sept 2026) adds AI habit creation and suggestions. Pick it if you want a full personal tracker with group challenges.

HabitShare

HabitShare is a free app for iOS and Android. You share the habits you choose with friends, and they can comment. We found no competition or AI features. Pick it if you want free, simple sharing.

Streaks

Streaks runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, with no Android version, and is a one-time purchase. You can share tasks with other Streaks users for encouragement. Pick it if you're all on Apple devices and want a polished personal tracker.

Beeminder

Beeminder is on web, iOS and Android, with a free core and premium plans listed at $8–$81/month. You pledge money that steps up after each derailment, and group goals charge every member the pledge. Pick it if you want real money on the line.

stickK

stickK is on web and iOS, free with optional money stakes. A referee verifies your reports, and lost stakes go to a friend, a charity or an "anti-charity". Pick it if you want a commitment contract with a referee.

When is StreakLeague not the right fit?

StreakLeague is built for one group, one habit and one competition, so it may not suit you if any of these is a dealbreaker.

How did we compare these apps?

On 19 October 2026 we read each app's App Store listing, website or help pages, plus Wikipedia for stickK, and used only what those sources state.

Where a source didn't cover a feature, the comparison says "Not stated" or "None found" rather than guessing. Prices can change, and StreakLeague's own facts come from the app itself.
